The Model Registered Agents Act- A Word (or two) to the Wise
Arkansas Law Notes (2008)
  • Carol Goforth
Abstract
In 2007, Arkansas became one of the very first states to adopt the Model Registered Agents Act, (the "Act"), a place of model legislation that had recently been proposed by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws ("NCCUSL") and the American Bar Association (the "ABA"). With very few exceptions, the bill that implemented the Act in Arkansas deleted references to registered offices (or designated offices or the like) and registered agents from the various business entity statutes, and replaced these references with a free standing statute.
