About Carol Gill

Carol Gill has specialised in the fields of executive learning and development, human resource management and organisation development, as both an academic and practitioner, for more than 25 years.
Carol teaches on the MBA and designs and delivers executive education programs in Leadership, Change and Human Resource Management for Melbourne Business School. She also provides consulting and executive coaching services. A registered psychologist, Carol has worked in key roles within major Australian private and public sector organisations and global enterprises in areas as diverse as leadership and executive development, human resources, workplace performance, employee relations, recruitment and change management. In particular, Carol implemented a number of organisation change initiatives and was a director of BHP's Global Leadership Program.
Carol has worked with a range of private sector clients including: Australian Eagle, HBA, ANZ Bank,Bank of Melbourne, BHP (Corporate, Minerals, Petroleum, Steel, Engineering), Morgan & Banks, Clarke Hummerston, CitiPower, United Energy, Austa Electric (Queensland), Ericsson, National Mutual, Mallinckrodt Australia, Exxon Mobil, Bunnings, AMGEN, Optus Networks, Keystone Foods,General Electric, BlueScope Steel.
In the public and not-for profit sectors, she has worked with Office of Corrections, Industrial Relations Victoria, Victoria Police, Defence Materials Organisation,Department of Aviation, State Revenue Office, Business Victoria, State Development Department, Victorian Legal Aid, Dental Health Services Victoria, VicForests, Australian Vice Chancellors Committee, Fundraisers Institute of Australia, Bureau of Meteorology, Melbourne Water, South Australia Health.
Carol holds a PhD, MBA, BA (hons)and Graduate Diploma of Social Science. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and College of Organisational Psychologists. She is also a fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
Carol also applies her expertise through executive development, consulting work and research partnerships.
Executive Development: Carol designs, delivers and advises on executive development interventions designed to help leaders work on their personal effectiveness and impact positively on their team and organisation. These inteventions include: training programs, master classes, coaching, facilitation, 360 degree feedback and keynote speaking.
Consulting: Carol designs, delivers and advises on consulting interventions to improve organisation effectiveness and facilitate positive change. These interventions include: organisational design & development, change, strategic HRM and applied research.
Research: The main focus of my research is on integrity at organization, group and individual levels of analysis. I am interested in both personal integrity (authenticity) and behavioural integrity (consistency between words and actions). More specifically, I have conducted research on integrity in HRM and Leadership. I have also examined the role of unions in facilitating organizational integrity. My current research focus is on authentic leadership, authenticity, and trust at individual and group levels of analysis.
My mission: To use my teaching, research and consulting capability to help leaders optimise their contribution in their teams, organizations and the communities in which they operate, whilst maintaining their personal wellbeing.
