Abstract
The migratory condition has been considered a factor of health concern in the USA. Studies reveal increased insecurity, fear, anxieties related to obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and others. Aiming at the possibility of reducing the prevalence of these diseases and even diseases in a Brazilian immigrant community, the Ulisses Project emerges of an educational nature in health, with the proposal of seeking to meet the health demand of these immigrants. Therefore, the objective of this work was to report actions/experiences of this Project. In this sense, two pilot workshops were held on the topic of stress in the migratory condition – Ulysses Syndrome – for immigrants or children of migrants, in October 2019 and January 2020, in the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. The theme was worked from reading / listening to texts concomitant to creative activities, followed by the dynamics of questions and answers about the text and concluding with the question "What did we do?". This set of activities aimed to lead them to a reflective process about their feelings and health behaviours. In this way, they would have the opportunity to seek to discover what would be consuming their health and, at the same time, work on possibilities to rescue it. It was evident that the activities provided the expected environment since the participants discussed migration processes, shared experiences as to what could be harmful to health as well as the care to avoid it, both individually and collectively.
