About Cara L. Burnidge

Currently, I am a part of two working groups that are shaping my research projects. Since 2013, I have been a part of the Religion & US Empire Seminar hosted by the Kripke Center for the Study of Religion and Society at Creighton University. In 2016, I was selected as a member of the recent Young Scholars of American Religion class sponsored by the Center for Religion and American Culture at Indiana Unviersity-Purdue University, Indianapolis. Through these two groups, and a 2014 UNI Faculty Summer Fellowship, I am working on a journal article about the history of the U.S. State Department's use of religion as a category of international diplomacy, focusing especially on US diplomatic missions in Syria and Palestine in the 1920s and 1930s.
