I have been teaching in one form or another for more than 10 years, beginning with teaching writing in 2009 while I was getting my MA in English here at Andrews University. From 2011 to 2016, I taught English at high school and elementary levels in South Korea. Upon returning to the USA, I again taught writing for AU for a year, including online courses. Then I spent the next four years (2017–2021) earning my PhD in Rhetoric & Writing from Bowling Green State University. During that time, I taught BGSU’s equivalents for ENGL 115 and 215, as well as advanced composition and a course on teaching writing for future middle and high school English teachers. I also served for some of that time as the assistant director of the writing program at BGSU.
