About Brian Russ

Dr. Russ received his B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Buffalo in 1999.  He completed the Kaiser Permanente Fellowship Program in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 2005.  Dr. Russ completed his Transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy through A.T. Stills University in 2013.

Certifications
Dr. Russ is a certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMPT) and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. 

Teaching
Entry-Level Courses: Physical Agents, Musculoskeletal I, Musculoskeletal II, Musculoskeletal III, Kinesiology, Tier 1A, Tier 1D T-DPT Course: Vertebral Column II, Peripheral Joint II
Dr. Russ is the course leader for Physical Agents, Vertebral Column II and Peripheral Joint II.  He is actively involved in the entry-level musculoskeletal curriculum teaching numerous content areas. 

Scholarly Activities and Interests
Dr. Russ’s scholarly interests include pelvic girdle dysfunction and the relationship to lower back pain.  Additional interests included the effects of manual manipulation on joint and muscle function.

Areas of Practice
Dr. Russ’s primary area of clinical practice is outpatient orthopedics.  He continues to maintain an active clinic schedule at the Nova Southeastern Faculty Clinic. 

Professional Activity Summary
Dr. Russ has been an APTA and AAOMPT member since 1999 and is a current member of the orthopedic section of the APTA.  He currently serves on the membership committee of AAOMPT.
