Dr. Chen's clinical research interests are collaborative and include work on reviewing and utilizing pharmacologic therapies for the treatment of sialorrhea. Her primary non-clinical role is faculty co-lead of the development, implementation and evaluation of a newly developed Social Pediatrics Curriculum for undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.  The curriculum focuses on fostering a health equity lens during pediatric training with an emphasis on partnering with community members and individuals who have lived experiences of vulnerability. Dr. Chen's educational research interests are also collaborative and include evaluation of how the new curriculum changes the attitudes, skills and knowledge of learners.

Dr. Breanna Chen completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary followed by an MD degree at the University of Alberta. She completed her residency in paediatrics at both the University of Alberta and Western University, obtaining her FRCPC in 2015. She went on to complete an additional year of clinical fellowship training in Paediatric Respirology at Western University.

She loves inpatient paediatric medicine as well as taking part in medical education, so was thrilled to join as a General Academic Paediatrician in 2016. She is interested in knowledge translation in the field of hospital paediatrics with a special interest in the management of sialorrhea in children and is currently the curriculum co-lead in the social paediatrics program.
