About Brandon D. Lundy

Brandon D. Lundy is a Professor of Anthropology and an Chair of the Department of Geography and Anthropology at Kennesaw State University. He serves as the editor-in-chief of the journal Economic Anthropology. Receiving his PhDs from SUNY at Buffalo and the University of Science and Technology of Lille, France, Dr. Lundy's work focuses on sustainable livelihoods including food security and artisanal alcohol, ethnoeconomics, transnational labor migration, indigenous conflict management, and entrepreneurship. He is the editor or co-editor of five books including two on Indigenous Conflict Management Strategies (Lexington Books, 2014, 2015) and one on Teaching Africa (Indiana University Press, 2013). He has published in many edited books and journals including the Journal of International Migration and Integration, (2018), Border Crossing (2017), Economic Anthropology (2017), African Arts (2016), African Identities (2015), Journal of International and Global Studies (2014), and Culture, Agriculture, Food and Environment (2012). Dr. Lundy has served as a country specialist (Guinea-Bissau) for the State Department and regularly presents nationally and internationally. After participating in a Fulbright-Hays in the summer of 2016 in Senegal on "Religion and Diversity in West Africa", he became a Fulbright Specialist where he assessed millennials perceptions of their environment and helped development environmental studies programs in Guinea-Bissau (2018). He is currently funded through NSF to study the contested valuation of local alcohol in Cabo Verde, West Africa.

Dr. Lundy teaches courses on the Anthropology and Africa, the Anthropology of Food, the Anthropology of Religion, and Qualitative Methods. His PhD students research identity, migration, and development around the world.
