Description
Kalamazoo Public Schools, like other urban school districts, participates in a program called Reading Recovery, designed to provide individualized reading instruction to help first graders with low test scores "recover' reading proficiency. Using a regression discontinuity design based on the test scores used for assignment, and other methods, we will evaluate the effectiveness of the program on short-term and medium-term academic outcomes using KPS administrative data. The project will produce a report for KPS administrators, and Institute working paper, and possibly and article intended for peer-reviewed publication.
