About Bobby Desai, MD, MEd

Dr. Desai has his Master’s in Education and Doctorate in Medicine. He began his career as a Staff Emergency Physician at Sutter Davis Hospital in California. Years later he became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, excelling over the years to become a Professor and Program Director at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine. In 2016, Dr. Desai was appointed Program Director for Emergency Medicine Residency between UCF and HCA Florida Ocala Hospital.
Dr. Desai joined the College of Medicine in 2018 and teaches Emergency Medicine in the Clinical Sciences department. He brings over 18 years of medical, teaching, and mentorship experience. Over the past 14 years, Dr. Desai has been a participating Fellow for both Emergency Physicians and Emergency Medicine.
In 2011 and 2016 Dr. Desai was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Award from the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College Of Medicine, as well as Exemplary Teacher award in 2012. He also received a national EMRA Mentorship award and Clerkship Directors in Emergency Medicine Innovation in Medical Education award in 2013.
