About Bo Yang

Dr. Bo Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning. His areas of interest are green infrastructure design and low-impact development, stormwater management, landscape performance assessment, environmental planning and technology, and landscape history and theory in China and East Asia.
Dr. Yang has diverse backgrounds in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning. He has professional experience in both China and the U.S. and has been involved in projects of different scales and focuses. Dr. Yang has given presentations at national and international conferences and published in leading journals in the field (e.g., Landscape and Urban Planning, Ecological Engineering, and Journal of Architectural and Planning Research). During 2011-2013, Dr. Yang’s research team assessed the landscape performance benefits of ten award-winning projects by Design Workshop and Conservation Design Forum, through research funded by the Landscape Architecture Foundation. Currently, Dr. Yang is examining the long-term effectiveness of green infrastructure design strategies used in Daybreak community, Utah.
Dr. Yang is Vice President of Overseas Chinese Landscape Architects Association and a Research Fellow of the Landscape Architecture Foundation.
