About Binita Thapa

Binita Thapa is a Research Specialist at the Cooperative Agricultural Research Center (CARC) at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU). She earned her Ph.D. in Soil Science from Texas A&M University, USA, master's degree in Soil Science from Wageningen University, Netherlands, and Bachelor's degree in Agriculture from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Before joining PVAMU, she worked as a Research Scholar at Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas for 14 months. She also worked as a Technical Officer at the Soil Science Division, Nepal Agricultural Research Council, (NARC), Nepal for 3.5 years. She has more than 1 year of working experience as a community-based seed production coordinator at a private company in Nepal. Thapa's research interests include climate-smart agriculture, carbon sequestration, greenhouse gas emission, soil health, irrigation and best nutrient management, sustainable agriculture, and environmental protection.
