About Binita Shah
Binita Shah is an Associate (Research) at MSCI Services Pvt. Ltd. She is also pursuing her Ph. D studies from National Institute of Industrial Engineering. In her Ph. D research she is conducting research she is focused on, Life Cycle Analysis of Coal-fired Electricity Generation in India and its Impacts on Climate Change (emphasis on carbon emissions), which covered the complete process of coal-based electricity generation. My research work mainly focuses on the Climate change impacts including understanding the global warming, Ozone Layer depletion and Fossil fuel depletion.
She completed her M. Sc. in Environmental Studies from Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Environment Education and Research in 2005. Ms. Shah has worked in the area Environmental Science and Sustainability since 2006. Her research interests are different aspects of Environmental Impact Assessment, Life cycle Assessment, Green building, Sustainable Consumption Behaviour, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) research. Ms. Shah has also worked in the area of Environmental Impact Assessment(s) [EIAs] and Green Building facilitator (US certification system) in Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED). She has presented at national and international conference international conferences on the environment and sustainability. I have very actively participated in the summer schools and sustainability workshops. As an appreciation of her interest and efforts towards the issues of sustainable development, she was one of the winners of the GREEN TALENTS PROGRAM 2010 -International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development under the patronage of Professor Dr. Annette Schavan, Federal Minister for Education and Research, Germany. As a continuation of the award, she was given an opportunity to work with United Nations University (Bonn) in Germany.
