Abstract
In courses related to international security, we find that students often to class bearing some prior biases, which they continue to retain through a selective learning process. This paper discusses a simulation of an India-Pakistan crisis that tackles some of these biases. The simulation was developed with support for the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) at the University of Maryland (UMD) and in cooperation with the ICONS project at UMD. This paper outlines the content of the simulation and discusses some of responses of students to participation in the exercise.
