My studies focus on the History of the Chinese Borderlands in the Contemporary Era, mainly after 1950, although my research can take me as far back as 1900. I have also studied contemporary Korean history and the History of Nationalist China during the Nanjing Decade. My upcoming research paper analyzes the origins of Hong Kong's Democracy Movement, and how their foundations can help understand the movements general staying power until the crackdowns of the past few years.
