Students Devote Spring Break to Service Work Around the World

Abstract
During spring break 2016 seven undergraduate students, one graduate student and three advisers went to Nicaragua, to a region by Lake Nicaragua. This group was led by three faculty members from the Department of Social Work -- Bronwyn Cross-Denny, Patricia Carl-Stannard, amd Derek Brown. The team worked with the nonprofit Viva Nicaragua. The students engaged schoolchildren in an after-school program and stayed with local families.
