About Professor Bassim H. Hameed

Professor Dr. Bassim H. Hameed received his Ph.D. in Chem. Eng. from University of Salford, UK, in 1992. He is a Professor at School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. His
research interest is Reaction Engineering and Adsorption Technology. He has successfully supervised to completion the work of 3 postdoctoral fellows, 9 PhD, 24 MSc students and more than 50 final-year research projects. To date, he has published more than 250 articles in International and national journals and
proceedings including 155 articles in ISI-indexed journals. Prof. Bassim’s publications have been cited over 4,850 times (Scopus), with 8 having been cited more than 100 times each, and he has an
author h-index of 43. A recent report of MOHE, Malaysian Citation Centre, 2012, Prof. Bassim is the top cited Malaysian-based author in Engineering, 2001-2010 with average citations per
publication of 27.26. Also recently, Science Direct reported that more than 15 of his articles were among the Top 25 Hottest Articles accessed in 2007-2012. Currently he serves as a reviewer
for many international journals published by prestigious publishers such as Elsevier, Wiley, American Chemical Society, Springer and
Taylor & Francis. He has reviewed more than 500 manuscripts. He is a recipient of three Sanggar Sanjung (Hall of Fame) awards for Research Product in 2003 and 2004 and USM Excellent Achievement Award in 2007 and 2011. Also he was a recipient of
Sanggar Sanjung Awards excellence in journal publication in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Prof. Bassim has conducted more than 50 academic and research skills workshops for university
lecturers, postgraduate students and researchers.
