Abstract
Praemonitus praemunitus is a Latin expression which translates as, "Forewarned is forearmed". The expression was first used in western writing by French author, Maurice Joly, in a nineteenth century book, entitled, ‘Dialogue in Hell’. Said another way, knowledge of imminent danger can prepare us to overcome the danger. Directors and Officers of Australian companies should be aware that they are more likely to be held criminally liable under recent changes to Australian law.
