Abstract
The Moravian Music Foundation announces a significant bequest from Philanthropist Louise Dieterle Nippert, which is supporting the conversion of records for over 10,000 music manuscripts and early music imprints housed in Winston-Salem, NC and Bethlehem, PA. The project, described in the article, uses WorldCat Discover as the home catalog, called GemeinKat, and RISM (Répertoire International des Sources Musicales). Collections for the collegia musica in Salem and Lititz, and the Philharmonic Society of Bethlehem include works by Haydn and Mozart, J. C. Bach, K. F. Abel, Johann Stamitz, and a host of lesser-known composers. A number of these are the only known copies in the world. Conversion of major collections will be completed by the end of 2017.
