Abstract

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth face more challenges and discrimination compared to their peers, which can have a negative impact on their mental health. There is a paucity of research on the international LGBT community in the medical field. In the absence of adequate training, negative social values can create bias among clinicians. This presentation will examine the plight of LGBT youth across the globe, focusing on the mental health provisions and legal protections of this vulnerable population.
