Abstract
This study examined the impact of a 4‐week stay abroad on L2 Spanish syntactic complexity development in oral narratives. Preliminary findings—based on three dimensions of syntactic complexity (Norris & Ortega, 2009)—reveal a slight advantage for the study abroad context. Findings are discussed in light of previous research.
