About Avinash Mishra

Avinash Mishra, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor in the Communication Disorders Department of the College of Health Professions at Sacred Heart University. He has clinical experience in academic medical centers, early intervention, and private practice. Dr. Mishra’s research interests include the development of evidence-based screening, evaluation and treatment protocols for individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and early intervention. His professional recognition includes Provost Recognition for Excellence in Teaching at Columbia University and New Investigator Award for a presentation from the Dysphagia Research Society. Dr. Mishra also actively reviews for the following journals; Dysphagia, Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health and Children and is a consultant for Autism Speaks and The Organization for Autism Research.
