About Austen L. Parrish

Austen Parrish is the Dean and James H. Rudy Professor of Law at Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
Prior to joining the Maurer School of Law in January 2014, he was a professor of law at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. There he served as Interim Dean and Chief Executive Office (2012-2013) and as Vice Dean (2008-2012). From 2003-2010, he directed a comparative and international Summer Law Program in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. The program is a collaboration between Southwestern Law School, the University of British Columbia, and the International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy.
Parrish entered academia in 2002 after several years as an associate at O'Melveny & Myers LLP. He has practiced in both federal and state trial and appellate courts. At Columbia Law School he was a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar, the Managing Editor of the Journal of Transnational Law, and a student editor of the Columbia Journal of European Law.
