About Ob/Gyn Residents - Aurora

Our program provides high quality postgraduate education for resident physicians, in a supportive academic and clinical environment enabling each resident to develop skills needed to become quality practitioners in the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Clinical education is complemented by a strong academic program in the basic and applied clinical sciences.
Each resident gains experience in maternal fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, gynecological oncology, urogynecology, surgical pathology, genetics and genetic counseling and geriatric gynecology. Family planning, sexual assault, sexuality counseling and management of complications of substance abuse are included. Experiences in primary care, emergency medicine and obstetric critical care are also an integral part of the curriculum.
An important strength of the clinical education component is resident involvement in patient care for all patients in ambulatory settings and the hospital. Residents assist in or perform deliveries and surgery for private patients with the guidance of voluntary and full time faculty. Residents, with the assistance of faculty consultants, are the primary providers of ambulatory care in a variety of clinics.
The strong clinical component is matched by a substantial academic focus.
