About Atul Bhatia, MD, FACC

Atul Bhatia, MD, was the first electrophysiologist to implant a “combo” device (combination defibrillator and biventricular pacemaker) in South Asia. After earning his medical degree in India, Dr. Bhatia came to the U.S. where he completed fellowships in both cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology through the University of Wisconsin Medical School’s Milwaukee Clinical Campus at Aurora Sinai Medical Center.

During his residency, Dr. Bhatia received several awards, including Outstanding Senior Resident of the Year at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center and the Rick Wartgow Award at Aurora Sinai Medical Center. He has authored or co-authored more than 17 original manuscripts, and has lectured at, as well as chaired, both national and international conferences.

Dr. Bhatia is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society, and is a member of the American Heart Association.
