About Ashwini Komarla, MD

Ashwini Komarla, MD, is Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Associate Program Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine in Orlando. She also serves as Director of Quality and Patient Safety, Internal Medicine Residency at UCF, and is a practicing rheumatologist at the Orlando VA Medical Center. She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis and fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Pennsylvania. Her clinical interests include rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, quality improvement initiatives and care for veterans. Dr. Komarla mentors internal medicine residents in several different QI and patient safety projects, as well as leads their QI curriculum.
