About Arturo Tello Ruiz-Pérez

After studying History of Art and Musicology at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, I obtained a doctorate degree at that university with the mention of “Doctor Europeus” and the Extraordinary Doctoral Award. I have been a guest researcher at the Bruno Stäblein Archiv (Institut für Musikwissenschaft) of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in different periods during the years 2001-2004.
Since 2005 I am Professor in the Department of Musicology at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid.
I am member of the “Complutense” Research Group "Música Antigua" and Research Group "El canto llano en la época de la polifonía" (CLEP), my research interests range from cultural transfers and reception history of medieval European music to the relationship between image, orality and writing in the music of the Middle Ages.
