About Artisia Green

Professor Green’s primary research focuses on directing and dramaturgy, and she has worked at William & Mary for the last seven years.  In 2016, she was awarded the College’s Arts & Sciences Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence. From 2016 until 2019, Professor Green will serve a term professorship as the Sharpe Associate Professor of Civic Renewal and Entrepreneurship of Theatre and Africana Studies. She was awarded the 2013 Outstanding Faculty Award, NAACP Image Award. From 2008 to 2010, Professor Green was the artist in residence for the New Directional Players at Purdue University’s Black Cultural Center. She has also taught at Chicago State University and Morgan State University. From 2000-2003, Professor Green was the Arts in Education Associate at Theatre IV in Richmond, Virginia.
