About Arthur M. Diamond, Jr.

Art Diamond has graduate degrees in philosophy and in economics from the University of Chicago, and is currently writing a book entitled “Openness to Creative Destruction:  Sustaining Innovative Dynamism” (2019).
He has been on the faculty at The Ohio State University, and is now Professor of Economics at the UNO College of Business Administration, where he has been a recipient of the UNO Award for Distinguished Research or Creative Activity.
The UNO Department of Economics presented Diamond with their “Outstanding Economics Graduate Teacher” award in 2007. His past research has resulted in over 60 articles that have appeared in journals such as Science, Economic Inquiry, Theory and Decision, Journal of Economic History, Econ Journal Watch, History of Political Economy, Journal of Human Resources, Research Policy, Economics of Innovation and New Technology, Independent Review, and Review of Austrian Economics. His nonacademic contributions include the script for “Frank Knight and the Chicago School,” and postings on artdiamondblog.com. The Journal of Private Enterprise in 2010 presented Diamond with their “Best Educational Note Award.” Among his recent published articles are: “The Epistemology of Entrepreneurship” and “Seeking the Patent Truth: Patents Can Provide Justice and Funding for Inventors.”
