About Arlene Gordon-Hollingsworth

Dr. Arlene Gordon-Hollingsworth is a Houston native. She received her Bachelor of Science in
Psychology from the University of Houston, Main Campus and Master of Arts in Psychology
from Houston Baptist University. Dr. Gordon-Hollingsworth earned her Doctor in Philosophy in
Clinical Psychology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. Upon completion of her
doctoral degree, she completed her postdoctoral fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University
School of Medicine, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Baltimore, MD where she
worked on numerous NIH treatment studies. This was followed by an International Research
Scholar position at Peking University, Department of Psychology in Beijing, P.R. China.
Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Gordon-Hollingsworth joined faculty at Baylor
College of Medicine and oversaw the clinical operations of a high-volume behavioral health
clinic within a Texas Children’s affiliated patient centered medical home. Currently, she is a
tenured-track Assistant Professor at Texas Southern University with the Department of
Psychology. Her research interests revolve around understanding and utilizing technological
advances to enhance the dissemination of evidence-based mental health interventions with
the goal of reducing the treatment gap in historically underserved communities.
