About Arléne Amarante

Professor Amarante joined the Duncan School of Law in 2019 as a member of the Legal Writing team. Prior to joining the Duncan School of Law, she was an Immigration Clinic Fellow at the University Nevada, Las Vegas, where she supervised law students practicing before the Las Vegas Immigration Court. Prior to working at the Clinic, Professor Amarante founded the Immigrant Justice Initiative, a nonprofit law firm dedicated to deportation defense for asylum-seekers. Professor Amarante received her J.D. degree from Nova Southeastern University School of Law and a B.A. degree in English from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In the summer of 2020, she earned a Masters in Social Justice and Community Action from the University of Edinburgh.
