Introduction to Health Care Delivery: A Primer for Pharmacists (2017)

The purpose of this chapter is to introduce essential concepts and critical issues in public health, with a focus on population health. Chapter topics include a historical perspective on public health, epidemiology, social determinants of health, health disparities, changing health priorities, models for change, prevention, and the public health/pharmacy workforce. A case scenario is presented and discussed.
