Abstract
This study examines the interoperability of the future operational concepts of the United States and NATO. As the United States continues to transform its military as part of a general revolution in military affairs (RMA), the speed and extent of that transformation might create dangerous technological, organizational, doctrinal, and perhaps cultural gaps might develop between U.S. forces and those of other members of the Alliance. Clearly, such gaps would have negative political and strategic implications for NATO. This study furthers our understanding of one of those potential gaps by examining the interoperability of U.S. and NATO future operational concepts.
