About Ann Marie Evans

Ann Marie Evans, EdD, MSN, RN is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at Sacred Heart University. Dr. Evans has been a registered nurse since 1989 and her experience in various fields of nursing include acute care for post-surgical cardiac patients, long term care, legal nurse consulting and nursing education.  Prior to joining Sacred Heart University, she was the Director of Professional Development & Education at Griffin Hospital where she was instrumental in establishing a shared governance model of professional practice.

Degrees: EdD Educational Leadership, University of Hartford, 2016; MSN, Patient Care Services Administration, Sacred Heart University, 2007; BSN, Southern Connecticut State University, 1989.
Certifications: Certified in Nursing Professional Development, American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Professional Experience: Director of Professional Development at Griffin Hospital, 2003-2011; Clinical Placement Coordinator, FNP Programs, Sacred Heart University, 2012-13. Experience with execution of a grant funded program analyzing nurses and their interactions with patients using computers at the bedside.
