About Anneris Coria-Navia

Anneris Coria-Navia joined the TLC faculty in June of 2014.  She comes to Andrews University from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, OH where she directed the Language and Culture Program and helped rebuild the institution.  She teaches courses in the Curriculum and Instruction Program, Secondary Teaching Methods in the Teacher Preparation Program, and supervises students in the field.  Anneris has degrees from the University of Southern California, Andrews University, Miami University, and Universidad Adventista del Plata and experience in a variety of K-16 settings.  Some of her research interests include beginning teachers’ support and mentorship, current trends in public and private education, competency-based learning, and issues of social justice in education, especially concerning traditionally underrepresented and underserved populations.  Anneris and her husband Benjamin, who teaches in the Biology Department at Andrews University, are the busy parents of two children.  They spend time together attending tea parties, reading stories, playing with Legos, imagining the ideal soccer team, making music, and cooking.
