Lateral asymmetries in electrodermal responses to nonattended stimuli: A reply to Walker and Ceci.
Journal of Experimental Psychology (1983)
  • Anne Schell, Occidental College
Abstract
Replies to E. Walker and S. J. Ceci's (see record 1983-24897-001) criticisms and alternative explanations regarding the present authors' (see record 1982-27242-001) conclusions on the laterality of automatic semantic processing. Two alternative interpretations of the Dawson and Schell hypothesis are distinguished, one based on inherent functional properties of the 2 hemispheres and the other based on the notion that each hemisphere is a partially independent pool of processing resources. Walker and Ceci's fundamental objection seems to apply only to the 1st interpretation.
