About Anita Manion

Anita Manion is an Assistant Professor in Political Science. She teaches courses in American politics, public policy, leadership, and gender and politics. Her research interests include the impact of policy on issues of equity, particularly in the areas of election and education. Her work includes analysis of policies such as merit and need-based aid, 4-day school weeks, vote centers, and campaign contributions. Anita serves as the political analyst for the local NBC affiliate (KSDK) and provides political analysis for a variety of media outlets. She has been recognized with several awards including the Excellence in Civic Engagement Award, Women’s Trailblazer Award, and the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence.
