Dr Andrew Ross BA(ANU), GradDipEdSec(UC), MATESOL(UC), PhD(UC)
Andrew S. Ross is a lecturer at Southern Cross University (Gold Coast, Australia). He possesses a Ph.D. and an M.A in Applied Linguistics. He has more than ten years of experience as a language teacher in Australia, Thailand and Japan. Currently, he is interested in the discourses that occur within and across digital social media platforms, but other interests include emotional identities in language education, the sociolinguistics of resistance, and approaches to teaching and learning in higher education settings. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and is currently co-editor of the volumes The Sociolinguistics of Hip-Hop as Critical Conscience: Dissatisfaction and Dissent (2017, Palgrave Macmillan) and Discourses of (De)Legitimization: Participatory Culture in Digital Contexts (2018, Routledge).
