Abstract
There is growing interest among archival institutions in planning participatory archiving events or projects where community members share photographs and stories and add them to a digital collection. While archivists know how to process and preserve collections, they are often less familiar with the community-engaged work these collaborative initiatives entail. Session panelists discuss the challenges and opportunities of this kind of work and encourage audience participation.
