About Andrew Mangano, DO, FACP

Dr. Andrew Mangano attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In 2010, he moved to Dubois, Pennsylvania to start his career as a hospitalist. In 2013, he moved to Myrtle Beach to work at Grand Strand Medical Center. He played a key role in developing the Internal Medicine residency program, and served as core faculty until accepting the Associate Program Director position in February 2017. Dr. Mangano currently leads academic half-day, quality improvement, inpatient services, and helps run the simulation lab. Dr. Mangano has served in multiple leadership roles at Grand Strand, including Chief of Staff and Chair of Medicine. He has been involved in multiple committees at the hospital such as clinical excellence, lab stewardship, antibiotic stewardship, heart failure, and medical executive committee. Dr. Mangano's medical interests include quality improvement projects and development of high quality and efficient systems. He has also worked part time as a hospice physician and has a passion for palliative care. Outside the hospital, Dr. Mangano enjoys traveling with his wife and daughter, golfing, and spending time with friends and family.
