Abstract
This paper describes a comprehensive set of innovations that integrate the themes of Sustainable Engineering into the undergraduate and graduate curricula offered by the Industrial and Systems Engineering department at the Rochester Institute of Technology. These efforts include development of new courses, establishment of an undergraduate minor, expansion of the senior design program, and culminate with the creation of two new graduate programs in this emerging discipline. The assessment data shows that these initiatives have been well received by students. Today, education in Sustainable Engineering is a major program differentiator for the ISE Department at RIT.
