About Andreas Schwab

My research of entrepreneurial ecosystems adopts an ecologies of learning perspective which combines individual, organizational, and industry-level analyses to capture long-term change and adaption outcomes. I have been investigating related hypotheses in multiple population-level data sets for Google and Facebook applications, U.S. movie projects, Chinese IPOs, Australian mining projects, National Football League and Major League Baseball. My empirical studies contributed to the corresponding literature, including pioneering work on the learning challenges that project ventures face and how these challenges can be addressed. My entrepreneurial ecosystem research investigates how standard multilevel learning processes can stimulate variability in learning outcomes that supports long-term industry survival. Recently, I have started to investigate how racial and gender diversity can moderate such learning processes. My research has received support by grants from the U.S. Fulbright program, NSF, CIBER, U.S. Navy, and the Hearing Foundation.
