Abstract

Excerpt

Frances-Marie Coke and Tanya Shirley are both Jamaican writers, and their poetry collections Intersections and She Who Sleeps With Bones are brimming with ghosts from Jamaica's collective history as well as the personal history of their characters. Both Coke and Shirley extensively engage memory and loss, rendering poignant images that are vivid yet surreal, all at once.
