About Andrea Ens

Dr. Andrea Ens is a pediatric endocrinologist at the Children's Hospital (LHSC) whose work mainly concerns medical education, especially surrounding curriculum design, as well as research into the experience of students in the health care system.

Dr. Andrea Ens completed her medical degree from Western University in 2007. She went on to complete her general paediatric residency program at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, followed by a three-year paediatric endocrinology fellowship program at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. During her fellowship she completed her Master’s in Education from the University of Toronto. From 2015 to 2018 Dr. Ens worked as a paediatric endocrinologist at Markham Stouffville Hospital with a large practice in diabetes.

Dr. Ens joined the Department of Paediatrics at Children’s Hospital as an Assistant Professor in 2018. She has a keen interest in medical education research focusing on curriculum design, competency based education and health literacy.
