About Ananya Vajpeyi

Ananya Vajpeyi works at the intersection of intellectual history, political theory and critical philology. She is currently writing a book about the life and ideas of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Vajpeyi is an Associate Professor at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, New Delhi. She is a Global Ethics Fellow with the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs.
She is the author of Righteous Republic: The Political Foundations of Modern India (Harvard University Press, 2012), which won the 41st Thomas J. Wilson Memorial Prize, the Crossword Prize for Non-Fiction 2013 and the Tata First Book Prize for Non-Fiction 2013.
