Description
Boise State president Dr. Marlene Tromp recently addressed an audience of faculty and staff gathered to hear how artificial intelligence is affecting higher education and what questions should be asked by educators as these tools evolve.

“Responding to these questions in an interdisciplinary way is going to be key,” Tromp said. “And that’s a Boise State strength. It’s something that we’ve done. We know this tool has the power to do great good. We know this tool has the power to do harm. So we have to think together.”

University panelists then shared their perspectives, ideas and resources for faculty. The panel discussion was moderated by Jen Schneider, assistant dean in the College of Innovation and Design.

The panelists were:
  • Steven Hyde, assistant professor of management in the College of Business and Economics
  • Amy Vecchione, assistant director of research and innovation for Boise State eCampus
  • Brad Weigle, clinical assistant professor in the College of Innovation and Design
  • Sarah Wilson, academic program integrity director in the Office of the Dean of Students
