About Amy L. Spurlock

Dr. Amy Spurlock joined Boise State University in 2021, and is currently an associate divisional dean and professor in the School of Nursing. She earned her Ph.D. in nursing, as well as her M.A. in nursing and community health, from the University of Kentucky. She earned her B.A. in nursing from James Madison University, and additionally has a post-master's certificate in applied biostatistics from the University of Kentucky. At Kentucky, her dissertation focused on policy predictors of tobacco cessation. For the past ten years, her scholarship has focused on the evaluation and use of blended tube feedings in children, and more recently, chronically ill adults. Her academic concentrations are evaluation methods/research methodology, and biostatistics. She has published numerous manuscripts in refereed journals, two book chapters and has presented her research nationally and internationally. Spurlock is a proud member of Sigma Theta Tau, International, the honor society of nursing and serves as a mentor in the Academic Leadership Academy.
