About Amanda Harmon

Amanda Harmon, MSW is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Field Liaison in the School of Social Work at Sacred Heart University. She is a licensed clinical social worker providing therapy over 10 years working with children, individuals, and families struggling with stress, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric problems, as well as a Certified School Social Worker in Connecticut. Amanda has worked with both adolescents and adults and has specialized in areas of domestic violence, LBGT issues, parenting, relationship issues and sexual assault.

Amanda has presented on suicide awareness and prevention, self injury and trauma and has appeared on Good Morning America, News Channel 12, It's Relevant, and in the Stamford Advocate and Greenwich Citizen. She is active in the community and has assisted with crisis intervention involving the Sandy Hook shooting and served 2 years as President of the Fairfield County Chapter Board of Directors for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
