Journal of African American Studies (2011)

Abstract
This paper makes the claim and argument that Black American females are geniuses. The paper presents education and income data to substantiate this claim. The paper also puts the claim of Black American females as geniuses in historical context to show that they have earned their achievements despite extraordinary difficulties for almost 400 years (since 1619). The paper concludes, however, that despite their extraordinary talents, Black American females as a group continue to experience serious exclusion from positions of national leadership in their own country.
