Abstract

The electric system has a great problem which is the continuous growth of loads. Hence, the operation of system equipments becomes very close to their marginal limits that result in voltage instability problems. The locations of distributed generators (DGs) have a major effect on the distribution system voltage stability; This paper presents the effect of (DGs) capacity and location on voltage stability enhancement in distribution networks by using different optimization tools such as Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Differential Evolution (DE). The main objective is to decreases power losses in the system to enhance the voltage stability improvement. The simulations have been carried out on the IEEE 30–bus system. The performance of the proposed method introduces significant reduction in power losses and improved voltage profile of the network.
